Faculty of Pharmacy Hasanuddin University (FF Unhas) signed a Memorandum of Agreement (MoA) with the Directorate of Pharmaceutical Production and Distribution of the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Indonesia. FF Unhas was directly represented by Prof. Dr. Gemini Alam, M.Sc., Apt. who is also the Dean of FF Unhas. The Directorate of Pharmaceutical Production and Distribution of the Ministry of Health was represented by Agusdini Banun Saptaningsih who was also Director of Pharmaceutical Production and Distribution, Directorate General of Pharmaceuticals and Medical Devices, Ministry of Health of the Republic of Indonesia.
Collaboration between the two institutions is related to Simplicia Testing and Extracts of Indonesian Herbal Pharmacopoeia Edition II Supplement II. The MoA signing procession was held on May 24, 2019 at the Ministry of Health Building, Jakarta.
Through this MoA, FF Unhas was given the mandate to be the executor in testing simplicia and extracts of Indonesian Herbal Pharmacopoeia Edition II Supplement II. Related to this, FF Unhas has the obligation to conduct and make reports regarding the tests that have been conducted. Specifically, the simplicia and extracts to be tested are ketapang leaves, pecan seeds, and Makassar fruit.
Together with FF Unhas, several other universities also signed MoA with the Ministry of Health. The universities were Gadjah Mada University, University of North Sumatra, Bandung Institute of Technology, Padjadjaran University, Andalas University, University of Indonesia, and Airlangga University.
