General Information
Muhammad Aswad is a professor in the Department of Pharmaceutical Science and Technology at the Faculty of Pharmacy, Hasanuddin University.
Prof Aswad scholarly work centers on pharmaceutical chemistry, with additional research interests in chemical biology, organic synthesis, photoaffinity labeling, medicinal chemistry, and drug discovery.
Prof Aswad leads the research group of Chemical Biology and Medicinal Chemistry (CMBC) Research Group which focuses on developing and utilizing chemical methodologies to address fundamental inquiries regarding biological functioning as well as involving the medicinal chemistry approach to drug discovery and development. He initiates collaborative research on chemical biology, medicinal chemistry, molecular design, compound synthesis, and therapeutic target discovery.
He also contributes to the Drug Synthesis Research Group (DrugSyn) as a lecturer and research-team member, supporting work on the design, synthesis, and biological assessment of pharmacologically active compounds.
